First run and sign-in

Starlinguide signs in with the same account you use on the website. Create it in either place; the desktop app and your account share configs, history and billing.

Verify your email

New accounts confirm their address before the first session. The confirmation keeps password resets and billing receipts reaching you. If the message has not arrived, check spam before requesting another.

Permissions

The app asks the operating system for access the first time you start a session. Grant these when prompted:

• Microphone — to hear your side of the call.
• System audio or screen recording — to hear the other participants. On macOS this lives in System Settings, Privacy and Security, Screen and System Audio Recording.

macOS only applies a newly granted recording permission after the app restarts. If the transcript stays empty on a fresh install, quit Starlinguide fully and open it again.
