Terms of Service

Starlinguide helps you answer interview questions. It does not promise you the job. You are responsible for having the right to record the people on your call, and for not using it where it is forbidden.

Acceptance and eligibility

These terms are an agreement between you and Starlinguide AI. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old. If you are using Starlinguide on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these terms.

The service

Starlinguide transcribes a live conversation and drafts suggested answers from that transcript and the context you provide.

It is assistive. The answers are generated by an AI model and may be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. We do not guarantee any outcome, including that you will pass an interview or receive an offer. What you choose to say is your decision and your responsibility.

We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice so you can export or delete your data.

Purchases and billing

Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. This means your contract of sale is with Paddle, not with us. Paddle takes the payment, charges any applicable tax for your country, issues the receipt, and handles refund requests under the terms presented to you at checkout.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access in place until the end of the period you have already paid for. Prices may change; a change takes effect at your next renewal, not mid-period.

Plans, vouchers and referrals

A voucher code carries its own conditions: an expiry, a redemption limit, and sometimes a restriction to a particular plan or to new accounts. Those conditions are part of the code and apply as stated when you redeem it.

Referral credit is earned when an account that signed up with your code completes its first paid period. We may withhold credit and suspend the account where a referral is self-referred, created through fraudulent means, or otherwise abuses the programme.

Student pricing requires verification. Providing false information to obtain it is a breach of these terms.

Your warranty on recording

This is the most important obligation in these terms. By using Starlinguide you warrant that, for every session you run, you have the legal right to record and transcribe every person whose speech is captured.

The law here differs by jurisdiction. Some places permit recording where one participant consents; others require every participant to consent. You are responsible for knowing which rule applies to you and to the other people on the call, and for obtaining consent where it is required. We do not make this assessment for you and we cannot.

If a claim is brought against us because you recorded someone without the right to do so, you agree to indemnify us against that claim and the costs of defending it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Starlinguide where an employer, proctor, examination body or platform prohibits assistance of this kind. Their rules bind you independently of these terms, and breaching them is your risk.
  • Use it to misrepresent your identity, or to sit an interview or assessment on behalf of another person.
  • Use it for any unlawful purpose, or to record someone in breach of section 5.
  • Resell, sublicense or share your account with others.
  • Reverse engineer the service, or attempt to circumvent its limits or billing.

Intellectual property and your content

We own the software, the website and the Starlinguide name and marks. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service, and nothing more.

Your content, meaning your configs, transcripts and the answers generated for you, remains yours. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you: to store that content, and to pass it to the sub-processors named in the Privacy Policy so they can transcribe it and generate answers. That licence ends when you delete the content.

If you choose to share a config publicly, you grant other users a licence to view and copy it for their own use.

Termination and suspension

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your use puts us or our providers at legal risk, or if required by law. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why.

Termination does not entitle you to a refund of a period already paid for, except where a refund is required by law or granted by Paddle under its terms.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that transcription will be accurate, that answers will be correct, or that the service will be uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for lost opportunities, lost earnings, or a job you did not get. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing law, changes and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, and the courts of Vietnam have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will note it here and update the date below. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, stop using the service and delete your account.
